Australian Native Plant Grimoire, Part 2: Flowers, Bush Foods and the Practice

This is Part 2 of the Australian Native Plant Grimoire, 23 pages for the flowers of the south and the bush foods you can buy, then the practice that brings them into your year: the native wheel, a cup for the garden folk, a tube-stock promise, your own herbarium sheets and a wattleseed damper with lemon myrtle honey butter. Part 1 holds the trees, the floral emblems and the safety chapter in depth.

What's inside

  • Safe hands: the four rules of this grimoire on one page, plus a respect note on whose knowledge this is
  • Ten flower field notes: waratah, kangaroo paw, two banksias, flannel flower, Sturt's desert pea, golden everlasting, native violet, common heath and round-leaved mint bush
  • The bush pantry: lemon myrtle, finger lime, wattleseed, Davidson's plum, macadamia and mountain pepper, the only plants in the book you may taste, bought as food
  • The practice: the native wheel of what flowers at each sabbat, two rituals, a herbarium craft with specimen sheets, wattleseed damper and a native garden planner

Why you'll love it

  • Written for Australian plants and southern seasons, not a northern herbal
  • Every botanical and historical fact carefully checked
  • Clear eating rule: only bush foods sold as food
  • Pairs with Part 1 of the grimoire for the trees and floral emblems

Your download

  • One zip with four PDFs: the grimoire in A4 (the Australian paper size) in full colour and ink-saving greyscale, with a Letter size copy for overseas printers
  • Tablet ready: write straight onto the pages in GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app, with tap-to-jump contents
  • Instant download link emailed after purchase, nothing is posted
  • Print as often as you like for your own personal use

Questions

Do I need Part 1 as well?

No. Each part stands on its own, with its own contents, safety pages and writing space. Part 1 covers ten trees of the bush, every floral emblem, the full safety chapter, the shedding bark ritual and the old gum spread, and the two pair beautifully if you want the whole set.

Can I eat the plants in this grimoire?

Only the bush foods in the pantry chapter, and only when bought as food from a reputable supplier. Never eat any native plant picked from a garden or the wild.

Does it include Aboriginal plant knowledge?

No. That knowledge belongs to its custodians and is not reproduced here. Correspondences are clearly labelled as Sorceress Sanctuary's own modern suggestions.
