Midsummer, Made for Australian Heat

This 36-page workbook celebrates the December solstice, at 6:50 am AEST on Tuesday 22 December 2026, with solstice times for every state. Verified midsummer history meets five short, heat-aware rituals that can be done indoors or in the cool of dawn and dusk, all flame free.

What's inside

  • Lore and season: the true story of the name Litha, midsummer fires and green doors, the solstice sky over Australia, a regional summer guide, correspondences, a lexicon of midsummer plants and figures of the season
  • Altar and ritual: altar planner and sketch page, plus five rituals: the longest light, resting in the shade, a sun wheel of thanks, the still point and the cool change
  • Craft and kitchen: sun water and a floating flower bowl, a sun-faded leaf print, lemon myrtle shortbread and a no-cook watermelon and lime granita
  • Reflection: a solstice check-in, two tarot spreads, intention planner, nature notes, journal prompts, a six-week bridge to Lughnasadh and a working record

Why you'll love it

  • Bonus Witch's Extras booklet: a one-page cheat sheet, a diagram page, a brand-new spell, cut-out cards and a colouring page
  • Written for heatwaves, holidays and the December rush, not a northern June calendar
  • Real history, clearly separated from modern practice
  • Short, restful practices with safety notes for peak bushfire season

Your download

  • One zip with eight PDFs: the workbook and its bonus Witch's Extras, each in A4 and US Letter, full colour and ink-saving greyscale
  • Tablet ready: write straight onto the pages in GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app, with tap-to-jump contents
  • Instant download link emailed after purchase, nothing is posted
  • Print as often as you like for your own personal use

Questions

When is Litha in Australia?

Litha falls at the December solstice in the southern hemisphere, around 21 to 22 December. In 2026 the solstice arrives at 6:50 am AEST on Tuesday 22 December, so add one hour if your state is on daylight saving.

What are the correspondences for Litha?

Traditional Litha colours are sun yellow, amber, orange, red and sky blue. Flowers include sunflower, daisy and rose, with frangipani, poinciana and Christmas bush as local swaps, and crystals include sunstone, citrine, carnelian and amber.

Can I celebrate Litha without fire during bushfire season?

Yes. Every ritual in the Litha Ritual Pack works with a battery candle or fairy lights. Summer is peak bushfire season, so check local fire restrictions and total fire bans, and on heatwave days practise in the early morning or evening.
