Questions

What are the layers of a spell jar?

A spell jar is built from the bottom up: the petition, a base of salt, rice or sugar, a body of dried herbs, a bloom of petals, a small crystal heart on top, then the seal and the spoken words.

Are spell jars safe around children and pets?

Spell jars are for display only. Never eat or taste any ingredient, keep jars on a high shelf because glass, small crystals and loose herbs are choking hazards, and call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 if anything is swallowed.

Do I need a candle to seal a spell jar?

No. A cork or screw lid is a complete seal on its own, and ribbon carries colour without a flame. If you choose wax, use a supervised flame on a tray and never burn a candle on top of a corked jar.
