The Spring Equinox, Set for Southern Skies

This 36-page workbook is made for Ostara at the September equinox in Australia and the southern hemisphere. Honest lore on Eostre and the hare, drawn from Bede and the folklore record, sits beside the equinox sky over Australia, five rituals, two crafts, two recipes and two tarot spreads.

What's inside

  • Lore and season: Bede and Eostre, hares, eggs and Easter, the equinox sky with times for every state, a southern Ostara guide with Wattle Day, correspondences, a lexicon of spring plants and figures of the season
  • Altar and ritual: altar planner and sketch page, plus five rituals: the sunset marker, the hare's form, three joyful leaps, the fallen blossom and the far equinox
  • Craft and kitchen: seed paper for the spring sowing, an equinox mobile, pea, mint and ricotta toasts and a carrot, orange and honey loaf
  • Reflection: an Imbolc check-in, the equinox horizon and hare's leap tarot spreads, intention planner, nature notes, journal, a bridge to Beltane and a working record

Why you'll love it

  • Bonus Witch's Extras booklet: a one-page cheat sheet, a diagram page, a brand-new spell, cut-out cards and a colouring page
  • Written for Australian spring, not a northern March
  • Honest about what is known and what is modern
  • Leads straight into the Beltane Ritual Pack

Your download

  • One zip with eight PDFs: the workbook and its bonus Witch's Extras, each in A4 and US Letter, full colour and ink-saving greyscale
  • Tablet ready: write straight onto the pages in GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app, with tap-to-jump contents
  • Instant download link emailed after purchase, nothing is posted
  • Print as often as you like for your own personal use

Questions

When is Ostara in Australia?

Ostara falls at the September equinox in the southern hemisphere. In 2027 the equinox arrives at 4:02 pm AEST on Thursday 23 September, when day and night stand close to equal before the long days take over.

What are the symbols of Ostara?

Ostara symbols include the hare, the egg, the seed, the dawn and the level line. Colours are pale green, primrose yellow, lilac, sky blue and white, with wattle yellow, waratah crimson and kangaroo paw red and green as local swaps.

Can I use wattle for Ostara?

Yes, from a florist or your own garden. Golden wattle is Australia's national floral emblem and blooms in September in the south-east. Never pick wattle, waratah or kangaroo paw from parks or bushland; admire them where they grow.
